Star examined his reflection in the mirror dispassionately. His roots were showing, but it didn’t matter. His clothes barely matched, if that, but he could care less. The set of his features, once fairly amiable, now had a harsh edge that he couldn’t lose if he’d wanted – but he didn’t.

People thought what they wanted and that was no thing to him. It wouldn’t change if they knew he usually did feel that coldly disassociated.

Turning from the mirror, he ran his fingers back through his hair making large clumps stand on end… but he wasn’t bothered by that, either.
